在亞伯拉罕時期（吾珥第三王朝 Ur III），吾珥是兩河流域敬拜月神南娜 Nanna 的宗教中心。這座廟塔 Ziggurat 就是亞伯拉罕時期的吾珥王吾珥納模 Ur-Nammu 用來敬拜月神而修建的。
